If you choose to take advantage of our My Reservations service, we will ask for more of your personal information when you register, such as date of birth, gender, the route you most commonly travel, the purpose of your trip and so on, together with details of the credit/debit card holder. This will allow frequent travellers with us to save time during the reservation process by us pre-completing certain fields. You will also be able to review reservations that you have made with us and the same reservation information will be available to our telephone support staff to allow them to assist you with any queries you may have. We will also use this information for profiling purposes to allow us to deliver a more effective and targeted service to you, the passenger.
We also log other information like your IP address and pages visited for security and statistical analysis. Use of our website
In order to purchase our products and services using the payment method
displayed on our website, you must be 16 years of age or over. By using

any payments from a credit or debit card, and to use this site in accordance
with all its terms and conditions. You confirm that all information supplied
by you in using this site is true and accurate.
Unlawful or prohibited use of our website
As a condition of your use of our services, you agree that you will not use this web site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms and conditions.
Booking terms and conditions
1. If travelling with megatrain.com the choice of trains are limited and pre-determined. For details see the Timetables section of the website.
2. You must be over 16 years of age to purchase the products and services on our website.
3. Customers can amend a reservation only if this is completed more than 48 hours before the first journey you reserved is scheduled to depart for megatrain.com bookings, meagbus.com customers must make any changes 24 hours prior to the first journey departure on the reservation. A £1 fee (50p amendment and 50p booking) is charged for all reservation being changed. The cost of the initial reservation will be credited against the subsequent reservation. Should the subsequent order be less expensive than the initial reservation, no payment or further credit will be made to the customer, all unused credit will be forfeited. Should the initial order be less expensive than the subsequent order the balance will be payable by the customer at the time of booking.
4. Bookings are only valid on the journey(s) and places stated.
5. A maximum of two children under 5 years old may travel with each fare-paying adult for free on megatrain.com. Children under 3 years old may travel for free with fare paying adult on megabus.com. However children travelling for free are not guaranteed a seat unless a seat has been purchased for them and a reservation number is provided. They may not use seats if fare paying passengers want them.
6. All children under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult (16 years of age or over) when travelling on megabus.com services.
7. Passengers are required to present a valid reference number, provided at the time of booking, when boarding one of our services or entering/departing a train station.
8. Concession passengers travelling within Scotland on megabus.com services who have booked concession seats must present their Entitlement card when boarding the bus.
9. If we have reason to suspect fraudulent use of a confirmation, transfer to a different person, or other abuse, we reserve the right to refuse you travel on our service(s). No refund will be made in relation to any confirmation refused due to fraudulent use.
10. Passengers are required to be at their departure point at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, This allows passengers to board in a timely manner avoiding any delays that may impact on the departure of the service.
11. When your reservation has been completed we will issue you with a confirmation e-mail. It is your responsibility to check that the confirmation issued to you is accurate. We are only responsible for issuing the confirmation in line with your request made on the website.
12. Passengers are advised that megabus.com will accept up to one piece of luggage per passenger. For guidance this should be no more than the size of a standard suitcase. Passengers can also take on board one piece of hand luggage up to the size of a small to medium sized hold-all. Luggage will be carried on megatrain.com in accordance with our accompanied articles policy found in the National Conditions of Carriage.
13. Our services are unable to carry animals, with the exception of guide dogs.
14. Stagecoach Group and affiliated company staff passes are not valid for travel on our services.
15. megatrain.com tickets are for standard class travel only, and no upgrades are available.
16. Seat reservations are not permitted for megatrain.com bookings, but we will do our best to provide all customers with a seat for their journey.
17. It is your responsibility to check that the confirmation issued via the website or phone matches your request, and is accurate.
18. If the train you are booked on is cancelled, you may travel only on the next train provided by the carrier, or you may have a full refund of the fare (and the booking fee). If you decide not to travel for any other reason, you may apply for a refund, (subject to an administration charge of £10.00 per booking) by writing to:

19. Rail travel is undertaken under the National Rail Conditions of Carriage as amended by these terms. A copy can be obtained from staffed train stations or from www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/.
20. Bookings with us may not be refunded except where we have materially failed in their delivery of the service offered by this site.
Insurance
Insurance is purchased by the carrier in accordance with our legal responsibility. All legal liabilities to third parties, to include damage to property and personal injury are covered. Our maximum liability to you for any loss or damage to your luggage, on megabus.com services under any and all circumstances is limited to £500 for all such loss or damage.
Pricing
Our seats start from as little as £1,
we will vary it's pricing according to demand and will offer it's best
prices to those who book early or to those who book on the less popular journeys. However
all journeys will remain competitively priced offering excellent value for
money.
A single reservation fee of 50p is charged for all our reservations. This fee is charged to cover bank and administration charges related to your reservation.
Bookings made by telephone will be charged at the same rate as those made on the internet, including the 50p booking fee. Calls to the reservation line cost 60p per minute from landlines. Calls from mobile phones may vary.
Customers may choose to have their reservation number sent to their mobile phone as a SMS text message. Text messages are charged at 10p per message/reservation, this fee is charged to cover text message and related administration costs related to your order.
Hotel Room Bookings
Our hotel partners are LateRooms Ltd., who provide our on-line hotel booking capability. When making a booking, your credit card information is sent to LateRooms Ltd via their secure server. They use the latest, most secure booking technology available, which encrypts all your personal and credit card details so that your credit or debit card details cannot be read as they travel over the Internet. Your credit card information is then held in LateRooms' secure database for a period of time to allow them to process your booking.
To prevent unauthorised access and use of your information, LateRooms Ltd. follows strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of your information, as required by the UK Data Protection Act 1998. Your credit card information can only be exchanged between you, LateRooms Ltd, and the hotel you are booking and is not provided to megabus as part of any hotel booking transaction.
